An in person seminar introducing David Hockney's photographic joiners by exploring his philosophy of seeing, creative process, and the techniques behind his most influential photographic works. The evening concludes with an introduction to the first assignment.Wednesday, July 22
6:00pm – 9:00pmJoiner Assembly & Group Critique
Working with your printed photographs, you will assemble your first photographic joiner before presenting it to the group for discussion and critique. Together we will reflect on the creative process, identify strengths and opportunities for refinement, and introduce the final assignment.Saturday, July 25
5:00pm – 7:00pm (Optional)Photographic Joiner Walk & Social Hour
Location: Vancouver City Hall to Olympic VillageJoin Andrew Legere for an informal evening exploring photographic joiners in the natural environment. Together we will experiment with different approaches to seeing, discuss ideas and challenges from the first assignment, and find inspiration for the final project. Following the walk, participants are invited back to the studio for coffee, conversation, and an informal discussion about the creative process.
WEEK TWO
Monday, July 27
Print Pickup
Your professionally printed photographs will be available for pickup at Legere Fine Art Services. Courier or delivery can also be arranged.Friday, July 31
6:00pm – 8:00pmFinal Joiner Critique, Discussion & Framing Seminar
Present your completed photographic joiner for a final group critique and discussion. We will conclude the workshop with a seminar exploring professional mounting, custom framing, and the presentation of photographic artwork. Final joiners will be collected for professional mounting and framing by Legere Fine Art Services.************************************************************

5:00pmFramed Joiner Reveal
Participants are invited back to the studio to receive their professionally mounted and custom framed photographic joiners and celebrate the completion of the workshop together.September 2026
Public Exhibition
All participants are invited to return for a public group exhibition of the completed photographic joiners, planned for mid-September. This exhibition celebrates the culmination of the workshop and provides an opportunity to share your work with the community alongside the other photographers who participated in the series. Additional details will be announced during the workshop.
