Photowalk Registration
Join me for an early morning edition of From Street to Print: The Photographic Assignment. We will spend three hours exploring the Pacific National Exhibition grounds, the perimeter of Playland, and the surrounding Hastings–Sunrise neighbourhood, discovering the extraordinary quiet of this part of Vancouver.
On a clear morning, this is among the first areas of Vancouver to catch the rising sun. Just minutes after sunrise, the buildings begin to glow as the morning light reaches across the architecture and surrounding streets. Whether we are met with golden light, overcast skies, or wet pavement, we will look for interesting photographs in the architecture, history, colour, shadows, and unexpected details of everyday life.
Every participant receives an individually selected photographic assignment suited to their experience level, encouraging a more intentional way of seeing. Your registration also includes one archival 8 × 10 inch print of a photograph you make during the walk, presented at our November 1 Print Reveal.

We will meet on Sunday, October 25 at 7:30AM at the corner of East Hastings Street and Renfrew Street, Vancouver. Sunrise is expected at approximately 7:49AM, giving us an opportunity to photograph the first light reaching across Hastings Park and the surrounding architecture.
The photowalk runs from 7:30AM to 10:30AM. We will explore publicly accessible areas around the PNE grounds, Playland perimeter, and neighbouring streets. The route may be adjusted depending on light, weather, and site access. Entry to gated attractions is not included.
This photowalk takes place rain or shine. Please dress for three hours outdoors, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring appropriate rain protection for yourself and your camera. Sunday morning transit service can be limited, so please plan your journey in advance.
Following the walk, you will have the opportunity to submit one of your photographs for professional archival printing. Your finished 8 × 10 inch print will be presented at our Sunday, November 1 Print Reveal, where photographers from different photowalks and workshops come together in Mount Pleasant to receive their prints, share their work, and enjoy an afternoon of conversation about photography.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
